L as tendencias recientes de la inversión extranjera y compra masiva de tierras en el mundo indican que los países en desarrollo concentran la mayor proporción del acaparamiento. A pesar de que algunos países más avanzados adquieren tierras, no es evidente que se constituyan en los mayores inversionistas. El artículo subraya la existencia de tres modalidades de acaparamiento: adquisición directa, arrendamiento y concesión, y a partir de estos se presenta un marco conceptual, que se asocia con la teoría de juegos, para entender los incentivos de los inversionistas para acaparar tierras. El marco teórico propuesto es útil para revisar la experiencia colombiana
