The success of a particular business venture depends on a good business model; nevertheless, the definition of a business model remains vague given the settings in which it is managed and the elements included in it. The success of many companies´ business models is due to the inclusion of differentiating elements and the ever increasing rhythm of change in the economy, meaning that innovation becomes a fundamental element in business models. Productivity centres´ main objective is to promote productivity and competitiveness for improving the quality of life. Guidelines are proposed in this article for formulating productivity centre business models which have been based on proposed conceptual frameworks incorporating four elements: their roles, internal resources and processes, external resources and processes and evaluation.
