El presente artículo aborda el análisis histórico de los primeros documentos que se refirieron a los Derechos Humanos como garantía para la vida del ser humano, con el fin de evidenciar en el tiempo a partir de cuándo llegó a su culmen el desarrollo y la consolidación como obligación de los estados, concluyendo que el momento más significativo se dio en el siglo XX y estuvo marcado por la promulgación de la Declaración Universal de DDHH, la creación de los sistemas regionales de la OEA, el Consejo de Europa y la Unión Africana de DDHH y las nuevas constituciones de los noventa como la colombiana de 1991.

This article deals with the historical analysis of the first documents that referred to Human Rights as a guarantee for the life of the human being, in order to demonstrate in time from when the development and consolidation as an obligation reached its culmination. of the states, concluding that the most significant moment occurred in the 20th century and was marked by the promulgation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the creation of the regional systems of the OAS, the Council of Europe and the African Union of Human Rights and the new constitutions of the nineties such as the Colombian one of 1991.
